The Beaches Arts and Crafts Show

So I spent this past weekend in the Beach neighbourhood of Toronto, at the Beaches Arts and Crafts Show, and I'm feeling pretty happy with the results.

The sales weren't great, but they weren't bad, either. And there was a whole lot of learning going on. It was my first outdoor show of the year, and my first time trying out my new booth display:

Which I really liked at the time (although I have a myriad of ideas for improving it), but now that I'm looking at the picture, it doesn't look so hot. Trust me, it did look better in person. But this weekend, at the Georgetown Village Festival, it will have numerous improvements made. More colour and more abundance (and better signage for some of the products) are some of the toppers on the list.

This show really was quite a wonderful learning experience, and I came out of it with lots of ideas, so just for that it was great, and the sales really were okay. So I'm feeling pretty darn positive right now.

I also got to spend the weekend with my godmother (who also happens to be my dads first cousin, which makes her my...what? Second cousin? First cousin once removed? Whatever). And it was really fun. I've never really spent much time with her, so it was so nice to have the chance, and she's wonderful. Hopefully I'll get to stay with her again when I'm vending at other shows in Toronto. It was really a treat.

So all in all, it was a very successful weekend. I'm two for two! What a good way to start off the show season. Hopefully this is just the beginning of many good shows to come!

  • Phew!

With the weather registered at butt chilling like it was and you hanging around outside by shores of Lake Ontario, I worried that the buying crowd would be scarce and you would be frozen. So good to hear the Beaches scene turned out.

    Go Georgetown Go!!
